Poltava Region Expands Its Environmental and Tourism Horizons!
The Dykanka Settlement Council, located in the picturesque Poltava region, has officially joined the national SOMBRILLA project. This is an important step for the community on its path toward energy independence, environmental safety, the implementation of sustainable development principles, and the realization of its unique green and tourism potential.
The SOMBRILLA project, implemented with the support of the RcErBs Foundation, aims to help Ukrainian communities develop and implement effective Local Energy Plans (LEPs) and Environmental Safety and Climate Adaptation Strategies through 2030. These strategic documents are key to optimizing resource use, reducing negative environmental impact, and improving the quality of life for residents.
For the Dykanka community, participation in SOMBRILLA means gaining qualified expert and technical support in the development of these vital plans. Through the project, the community will be able to conduct an in-depth analysis of its energy needs, identify potential savings, and develop concrete measures to improve the energy efficiency of buildings, promote renewable energy sources, and enhance its environmental condition.
The Unique Potential of Dykanka:
Dykanka boasts significant green and tourism potential, making it an ideal partner for the SOMBRILLA project. Its picturesque landscapes, rich history, and cultural heritage provide excellent conditions for the development of eco-tourism and recreation. Implementing energy-efficient solutions and environmental safety strategies will help preserve this unique natural legacy while fostering sustainable economic growth through the development of eco-friendly tourism infrastructure.
SOMBRILLA Broadens the Map of Tourism-Oriented Communities:
The participation of the Dykanka community is a sign of the growing awareness among Ukrainian communities about the need for a systematic approach to tackling energy and environmental challenges. The RcErBs Foundation continues its mission to support local initiatives that contribute to building a resilient and prosperous future for Ukraine.
We’ve already reported on the participation of other tourism-oriented communities, including Kobleve and Buky, in the SOMBRILLA project. You can read more about their involvement here: Kobleve and Buky Communities Join the SOMBRILLA Project.
Stay tuned for updates from the Dykanka community and the SOMBRILLA project to learn about their first steps and successes on this important journey!
